Welcome to

The Celluloid Collective

The Celluloid Collective was founded in 2023 by Cinematographer Kenneth Keeler and Director / Film Educator Jerry J White III. The Celluloid Collective is a vibrant community fueled by a deep love for all things film! Our mission is simple: to preserve and celebrate the artistry of film in every form—be it still photography, motion picture photography, and the magic of the darkroom!

Who We Are:

At our core, we aspire to create a secure haven for film enthusiasts—a space to freely share your creations, exchange techniques, seek knowledge, ask questions, and revel in our shared admiration for the enchanting magic of film as a medium. Our ultimate goal is to showcase incredible works, foster a deeper understanding of the craft, educate, and ensure that the magic of film stays alive for generations to come. We are a one-stop shop! Everything you are looking for regarding film as a medium is all in one place! No more scouring the internet for hours to find that bit of info you are looking for!

What We Do:

Our Outlets:

Instagram: The Celluloid Collective

Our Instagram serves as our primary platform, spotlighting amazing film artists. We keep the community updated on upcoming news, classes, events, merch drops, cool film stocks, and unique techniques. Every week, we feature a film artist, and each month, our community selects their favorite, leading to a featured article on our website.

Podcast: Listen Now!

Launched in February 2024, our podcast "Art Provoked," hosted by Kenneth Keeler & Jerry White, delves into the multifaceted process of creating art. While primarily focusing on filmmaking and photography, Art Provoked explores various art forms. We discuss the journey, the highs and lows, offer educational insights, interview artists, challenge stereotypes, and fearlessly tackle topics often avoided. As artists, we lay it all on the table, reassuring our audience that they are not alone in this wild artistic journey.

Discord: Join The Conversation

Our Discord server provides yet another outlet to engage with fellow members, meet inspiring artists, ask questions, and discuss everything imaginable related to film as a medium.

YouTube: (Coming 2025)

Launching in 2025, our YouTube Channel will be the central source for education. We plan to cover a diverse range of how-to content, from darkroom printing and developing film at home to bulk loading your own film, scanning negatives, shooting on motion picture film, and advanced techniques. Whether you're a novice or an experienced creator, there's something for everyone on our channel. Stay tuned for a wealth of knowledge and inspiration!
