FILM INFORMATION sheet

THANK YOU FOR PURCHASING OUR MOTION PICTURE FILM!

INFORMATION:

To help do our part in making film photography a more environmentally friendly medium, all our film is hand rolled into recycled film cartridges.

Each film stock is carefully hand rolled with fresh Kodak Vision 3 Motion Picture film stock or well preserved vintage film stock we carefully select from our suppliers.

1 Roll / 36 exposures

Our film cartridges currently do not have a DX code! You will have to manually set the ISO on your camera for your internal light meter to work properly or you can use a hand held light meter for more accurate results! We reccomend over exposing our film by

1/2 STOP - 1 FULL STOP unless you are shooting a vintage stock, then please refer to the description of the product in the store for more information on what to rate your vintage film for the best results.

COLOR FILM STOCK:

Process: ECN-2 ONLY*

All of our color motion picture film has a Rem Jet Backing and CAN NOT be processed by any standard commercial lab! You must process your film

at a lab that can handle ECN2 Processing or process the film at home!!

BLACK AND WHITE FILM STOCKS:

Our Double X Black and white film can be developed in most standard B&W Chemistry, however for best results we recommend developing this film stock

in D96, D76 or TMAX Developer. Each with give varying results. We have found using D76 developer at a 1:1 ratio produces amazing tonality and latitude!

FAQ:

Why can't I process this film at my favorite C-41 lab?

Most color motion picture films can be cross processed in C-41 chemicals however motion picture film has an additional layer called "Rem Jet" this Rem Jet will ruin commercial lab's equipment and there for can not be commercially processed in their machines if they do not handle ECN-2 film stock!!!! Unless stated otherwise on their website DO NOT BRING THIS FILM to a commercial lab and think you can sneak it through it will severely mess up their machines!!!!

What commercial labs in NYC will process my Kodak motion picture film negs, scan and or print for me?

We recommend the following labs - Click the links below!

(We are currently working on putting together an expansive list of all ECN-s film labs in the United States. Stay tuned!)

How can I process this film stock at home?

There are at home ECN-2 development kits available, we love the kit from “Film Photography Project” its easy to mix chemicals and comes with step by step directions ! Film Photography Project at home ECN-2 Kit! www.filmphotographyproject.com

In addition to the normal directions for home-processing please add the following step.

After your last step, rinse your film in a half bucket of hot water (80 - 102 degrees F). with your finger gently rub the non-emulsion side of your film to remove excess Rem Jet. Careful not to scratch the emulsion side of your film. Final rinse under running water. You will see the black rem jet in your water as you rinse. Hang to dry and enjoy!
